Journal your FxPro MT5 trades automatically
If you trade with FxPro on MetaTrader 5 for Windows, AI Trading Journal can save every closed trade in your own journal on your PC (with an optional copy in your own Notion workspace) about every 5 minutes. It reads your FxPro terminal on your PC. It does not connect to FxPro, so you never give anyone your FxPro login.
What FxPro says about MT5
Facts below are from FxPro's own pages (https://www.fxpro.com/trading-platforms/metatrader5), checked on 11 October 2026. Offers change, so check the broker's site for the latest. We are not affiliated with FxPro, and nothing here is a recommendation of it.
- Its MT5 page lists the platform for web, Mac OS, iOS, Android and Windows.
- It lists 38+ preinstalled technical indicators, 3 analytical charting tools, 44 chart types and 21 timeframes, with one-click trading from charts.
- It lists more than 2,000 stock CFDs, a Depth of Market tool and an integrated economic calendar.
- It describes MetaEditor, a strategy tester for backtesting Expert Advisors, and a VPS from BeeksFX to run Expert Advisors around the clock on weekdays.
What that means for your journal
If you run Expert Advisors on a VPS, the terminal that makes the trades is on that VPS, not on your PC. The app reads an MT5 terminal installed on the same Windows machine it runs on, so for a VPS account either run the app on the VPS or accept that only terminals on your own PC are journaled.
Journaling tips for FxPro accounts
- Decide where the terminal lives (your PC or a VPS) before you set up the journal, and run the app on that machine.
- Tag EA trades in Notes and review them apart from manual trades.
- With 2,000+ stock CFDs on offer, group your review by asset class before adding more markets.
How to set it up
- Install the MT5 terminal on your Windows PC and log in to your FxPro account.
- Install AI Trading Journal, click Add Account and pick your logged-in account. It finds your terminal and account.
- Click Create my journal. The app imports your whole history and keeps it up to date about every 5 minutes.
- Optional: click Connect Notion to keep a copy of the journal in your own Notion workspace.
What each journal entry contains
For every closed position: symbol, direction, volume, open and close time, entry and exit price, stop loss, take profit and profit or loss, plus your own setup, emotion, rating, tags, notes and screenshots, which a sync never overwrites. A daily row shows the day's result, win rate and drawdown.
A weekly review for your FxPro trades
- Which symbols made or lost money this week?
- Which session were most of the losses taken in?
- Did lot size stay inside your plan?
- How many trades would you not take again?
The weekly trading review checklist turns these into a 20-minute routine, and win rate, profit factor and expectancy explained shows how to read the numbers.
Privacy and cost compared with a cloud journal
| Question | Cloud journal | AI Trading Journal |
|---|---|---|
| Where do your trades live? | On the vendor's servers | On your own PC; they do not pass through our servers |
| Does it need your broker login? | Many connect with account login and investor password, or an Expert Advisor that sends data out | No. It reads your own logged-in MT5 terminal on your PC |
| What if you stop paying? | Access and history can end with the subscription | Your Notion journal stays yours |
| Can it place trades? | Read-only access is typical, but you are trusting the vendor | It is read-only by design; it never places, changes or closes a trade |
An honest note on privacy. Notion is itself a cloud service, so your trades do sit on Notion's servers, in your own workspace, under your own account and token. What AI Trading Journal removes is the extra middleman: there is no separate journal vendor holding your trades and no broker login sent to a website. No tool is risk-free, so protect your accounts, including Notion if you connect it, with a strong password and two-step verification.
Limits to know
- Windows and MetaTrader 5 desktop only.
- Trades sync every 5 minutes, not instantly.
- One computer at a time per license.
- No trade replay, backtesting or AI coach.

More from FxPro's MT5 page (read 11 October 2026)
- It offers a Trading Central plug-in with technical analysis indicators as an add-on for MT5.
- Its page lists MT5 entries labelled Live 1, Live 2, Live 3 and Demo, so check which one your account is on when you log in.
- Its web version is described as browser-only with no install, offering 30 technical indicators, 24 analytical tools and three chart types with nine timeframes.
Desktop terminal, web and VPS: which one is journaled?
The app reads a desktop MT5 terminal on the Windows PC where it runs. A web session in your browser or a mobile app is not read. A terminal on a VPS is read only if the app runs on that same machine. Decide early where your trading terminal lives, because that is where the journal has to be set up.
| Where you trade | Journaled by the app? |
|---|---|
| Desktop MT5 on your Windows PC | Yes |
| MT5 web or mobile only | No, the app does not read them |
| Terminal on a VPS, app installed there | Yes |
| Terminal on a VPS, app only on your PC | No |
If you run Expert Advisors on a VPS and also trade by hand on your PC, set the app up on both and keep each in its own journal so manual and automated results are never mixed.
Spreading across asset classes
A broker with thousands of stock CFDs invites you to trade more markets than you can follow. Group your review by asset class first. If one class pays and another does not, the journal shows it before the account does.
