AI Trading Journal on the Microsoft Store
What the Store listing shows, how to install the app from it, and what a Store listing does and does not tell you.
It is on the Microsoft Store
AI Trading Journal is listed on the Microsoft Store, and you can install it from its Store page. This page explains what the listing shows, how to install from it, and what a Store listing means and does not mean. The next section shows the text we submitted for version 1.1.2, which appears on the Store page once Microsoft has certified it, usually within a few days.
What the listing says (version 1.1.2)
| Item | What the Store page says |
|---|---|
| Name | AI Trading Journal |
| Publisher | Wajid Farooq |
| Category | Utilities and tools |
| Available on | PC |
| Age rating | ESRB: Everyone |
| Description | Automatic MT5 trading journal on your own PC: a live dashboard, a P&L calendar, trade notes with screenshots, progress goals, Excel reports and daily backups. Notion is optional. A 7-day free trial, then a one-time purchase and no subscription. |
| Features listed | Reads your MT5 account every 5 minutes, read-only; dashboard with Daily, Weekly, Monthly and All-time views; P&L calendar; trade notes, ratings, tags and screenshots; progress and monthly goals; Excel report with monthly calendar tabs; daily backups; optional Notion copy |
| Ratings and reviews | None yet when we last read the page. The app is new, and we will not quote ratings that are not there. |
The publisher name on the listing is the independent developer who makes the app, the same person named on our about page. Matching the name on a Store listing with the name on the website is one of the simplest checks you can make on any app before you install it.
How to install it from the Store
- Open the Store page in your browser, or open the Microsoft Store on your Windows PC and search for AI Trading Journal. Check that the publisher is Wajid Farooq.
- Click Download, or View in Store and then Get. Windows installs it like any other Store app.
- Open it from the Start menu. On first launch choose the free 7-day trial. No card is required.
- Make sure the MetaTrader 5 desktop terminal is installed on the same PC and logged in to the account you want to journal.
- Click Add Account, pick your logged-in MT5 account and click Create my journal. Connecting Notion is optional. The journal guide walks through every step.
To remove it later, open Windows Settings, then Apps, find AI Trading Journal and uninstall it as you would any other app. Your journal is not deleted, because it lives in your own Documents folder (and in your own Notion workspace, if you connected it).
What you need
- A Windows 10 or 11 PC. The listing shows PC as the platform, and the app does not run on Mac, Linux, a phone or a browser.
- The MetaTrader 5 desktop terminal, installed on the same PC. MetaTrader 4, cTrader and other platforms are not supported.
- Optional: a free Notion account and an integration token of your own, only for the Notion copy.
- An internet connection only for the license check and, if you connect it, Notion. Reading your terminal and saving your journal are local.
- The app (its window or its tray icon) running, if you want the journal to update every 5 minutes. Version 1.1.2 syncs from inside the app while it runs, so keep it open or in the tray.
What a Store listing means, and what it does not
Apps in the Microsoft Store go through Microsoft's certification process before they are published, which checks them against the Store's policies and technical requirements. Microsoft publishes the current policies on its own site, and they change, so read them there if the details matter to you. In practical terms, a Store listing gives you a few useful things: a named publisher on a page Microsoft hosts, a standard install and uninstall, and a place to leave a rating.
It does not mean more than that. Certification is not an endorsement of the app's usefulness, an audit of its code, a guarantee about your trades or your money, or a statement about the trading features. Nothing on this site should be read as Microsoft verifying, approving or guaranteeing anything about trading. The app is also a desktop program that runs with your normal Windows permissions, not inside a restricted sandbox, which is what lets it read the MetaTrader 5 terminal on your PC. For that reason, the other checks in how to check a trading journal is legit and safe still matter, and you can run them on us.
What it does and does not do
| It does | It does not |
|---|---|
| Read your closed MT5 trades from the terminal on your PC | Place, change or close any trade |
| Save one journal entry per closed position about every 5 minutes (and one Notion row, if you connect Notion) | Need your broker login or investor password |
| Show a desktop dashboard with win rate, profit factor, P&L and drawdown | Send your trades through our servers |
| Keep the notes you write safe from being overwritten | Give trading signals or advice |
Your journal is a file on your own PC. If you connect Notion, remember that it is a cloud service, so a copy of your trades then sits on Notion's servers, in your own workspace, under your own account and token. Protect that account with a strong password and two-step verification. See the privacy page for the detail.
Price and trial
The trial is the full app for 7 days, with no card required. After that the app is a one-time $19.99 purchase, or 19.99 USDT, with no subscription. One license covers one computer at a time. If you are comparing the cost with subscription journals, see an MT5 trading journal with no subscription.
