Chart review: what you gain and what it takes
Reviewing each trade on a price chart, with your entry and exit marked, is the main thing Tradervue offers that AI Trading Journal does not. It is valuable if your edge is in the way you read price, because the chart often shows what a table of numbers cannot: an entry into a level that had already failed, or an exit just before the move. If that is how you review, a chart-based journal is worth paying for. If you review mainly by setup, session, size and plan-following, the table of numbers plus your own notes may be all you need, and screenshots you attach to Notion can fill the gap for the trades that matter.
Where the data lives
With a hosted journal your trades live in the vendor's cloud, under their terms and their security. With AI Trading Journal the trades are read on your own PC and saved in a file on your own PC, so the journal is as offline as your PC is; if you connect Notion, a copy sits in your Notion account, which is a cloud service. With the Notion copy, the difference is the number of parties holding it: your Notion account on one side, and no separate journal vendor on the other. Neither is risk-free, so protect the accounts involved with strong passwords and two-step verification. See how to check a trading journal is legit and safe for a checklist you can apply to any tool.

Check broker support before you pay for any journal
We could not confirm from its pricing page whether Tradervue connects to MetaTrader 5 for every broker. Before paying for any tool, look at its list of supported brokers for yours, or run its free trial on your own account. The same applies to us: AI Trading Journal reads MetaTrader 5 on Windows and nothing else, so if your platform is different it will not work for you.
